Salle Des Ambassadeurs 24 October 09 to 8 November 09
Show Review
Casino du Liban is proud to present "Looking for Josephine"at La Salle des Ambassadeurs from 24th October to 8th November, 2009.
"Josephine" is a splashy musical revue written and produced by Jérôme Savary. It is a dance spectacle that encompasses a tribute to the African-American music and the restaging of Josephine Baker's Parisian revue. It recapitulates the history of American jazz and attempts to re-create the dazzling mix of innocence, humor and sensuality with which Baker enlivened the stage.
"Josephine" will magically transport you to La Revue Nègre of 1925 Paris, where some of Bakers best-known songs and dances including her famous banana skirt, are reprised. The story of Jazz is told through dance as well as music, with an African tribal dance leading to Haitian carnival and Cuban salsa numbers and finally to an assortment of high-powered American dances.
The show is an homage to Josephine Baker's erotism, humor and courage.
Dont miss this magnificent revue playing at La Salle des Ambassadeurs.
